Feeling a bit claustrophobic, you go for the door. Once there you impose a bit more caution into your nerves and feel around the doorframe looking for any signs that might tell you more about what kind of situation you are in. You feel a rough wooden frame enclosing a door made of slat wooden planks held into place with narrow iron bands. You reach for the handle and discover a latch instead. Just as you are about to push the latch, there is a light scratching sound on the other side of the door. You:
- Yank the door open trying to surprise whatever is on the other side.
- Take your hand away from the door, listening for more sounds.
- Slowly, cautiously push the latch and ease the door open prepared to slam it shut again at the first sign of threat.
- Take out your small knife and open the door ready to meet your fate.
